Nodame Cantabile Paris Chapter coming in the fall

Nodame Cantabile: Paris Chapter Anime Sequel Announced

The official Japanese website of the Nodame Cantabile anime series has announced the October premiere of the Nodame Cantabile Pari-Hen (Nodame Cantabile: Paris Chapter) sequel. The new story arc will run in Nodame Cantabile’s former late-night Noitamina timeslot in Japan. Both Tomoko Ninomiya’s original manga (pictured at right) and the 2006-2008 live-action drama adaptation have already set their later stories in Paris. All versions of Nodame Cantabile have the common plot threads of two music students who drive themselves and each other to greater artistic heights in Japan and later Europe.

I have actually been watching the Nodame Cantabile drama as of late, so I am all for seeing the Paris stuff animated. Even though I haven’t finished the drama yet, I must admit that I am enjoying it a lot more than the anime. I do not to take away from the anime, which I very much enjoyed last year, so I am quite excited about this announcement. I do wonder how long this sequel will be and about the returning (or not returning) cast and staff of the first series. I liked where they ended the anime, and although there is more afterwards, I didn’t really expect a sequel. Pleasant surprised for me–a well-timed pleasant surprise I might add.

I too was pleased with how the anime ended, and wasn’t expected any sequel, but that’s a very good surprise.

i have to say this news made my day!!! i can’t wait. but do you think this will end with volume 15 of the manga just like the 2-night special shown last january?

wow, i honestly never expected as sequel. with he way the anime ended i thought they were going to leave it at that!

If the sequel is going to be anything like the specials in the live action then I’m thinking 13. The two specials add up to about 8 24 min eps… I would simply assume they would add some filler to the anime to round it out to the normal 13 eps. It wouldn’t take anything away from it. The live action, btw, quite nice… despite the fact that it took me over a week to finish. I don’t know why that felt like forever but it did.

Gyabo!! It’s really true! I loved the ending of the series - I found it to be cute - and I can’t believe that they’re continuing it - not that I’m complaining, I love it!
