Re: Lucky Star OVA

Dear Kyoto Animation,
I appreciate all your hard work on Lucky Star and other series; however, as a fan of your works and anime in general, I kindly request that you stop milking Lucky Star and move on to continue milking franchises that you have in the past. I enjoyed the whimsical and intelligent humor that filled Lucky Star, and am genuinely excited about the upcoming Lucky Star OVA, but believe your talents as an animation studio shined more with past series, such as Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu, Clannad, and Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid. All three of these series are due for sequels, and having made announcements for continuations with “Haruhi” and Clannad, I am ecstatic about the future. Full Metal Panic, on the other hand truly deserves more attention. Fans have been long awaking a fourth season, and your reference to it in a latter episode of Lucky Star only reignited people’s collective desire for more. We like big robots, well-timed humor, Seki Tomokazu, and Tessa’s oh-so-cute clumsy antics. Although a Lucky Star OVA seemed inevitable, I ask that you please keep your milking of Lucky Star to a minimum (however, if the OVA is about Tsukasa alone, feel free to milk it like no other!) . I understand that Lucky Star was immensely popular, but there are pressing needs that must be addressed–and have been needing addressing for much long than “balsamic vinegar” was a meme. I thank you for your time and hope you consider some of these recommendations in regards to the upcoming Lucky Star OVA.
Sincerely,
A fan
P.S.: More announcements about the sequel to Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu would be greatly appreciated.
P.P.S.: If it turns out that you are in fact not animating the Lucky Star OVA, please disregard my commentary on Lucky; however, the Full Metal Panic, “Haruhi,” and Clannad sequels must be acknowledged sooner, rather than later.

IIRC the next FMP novel, which is believed to be the last of the series, is not out yet, so it would make little sense to animate another FMP before the story is concluded.
Besides, it’s just an OVA. I’m looking forward to it, but I’m not worried about it taking too much time and resources from KyoAni.
Also, a Tsukasa-only OVA would be fine, but I have a hard time deciding who I want to see more of.

I frankly don’t mind and enjoy this new news, but I guess I can understand your sentiment.

Kyoto can milk LS as much as they want. I’ll gladly take more Kagamin and Konata over Yuki and Mikuru.

@Nemo, TheBigN, & IcyStorm: I too am excited about an OVA, but I guess I’ve grown impatient with Haruhi and FMP. IcyStorm, I agree you about LS over Haruhi right now, but as successful as KyoAni has been so far, I would love for them to tackle something new and fresh (like they did with LS), but also take on the sequels that we have all been waiting waiting for.
@tim: No obfuscation. Basically, I would like more information about the other stuff that has been hinted at or announced prior. We’ve been left hanging with Haruhi S2 for some time now. I liked LS, but probably not as much as others, so I’d gladly take other news over it at the moment.
@DQ: I stuck that in there just for you.
