Forget the plastic boobies, even without the cast off feature, Fauna is a must own. Max Factory decided to make my Holiday season just a tad bit more enthusiastic by releasing this damn awesome figure.

Hands down, this must be one of the most adorable figures in my not-so-small (anymore) collection. Pretty much all aspects of Fauna are top notch–pose, face, paint, details. Like their work with Shana just recently, Max Factory seriously has to be commended for this figure. Fauna’s pose was sculpted right from one of the Megachu! shots and recreated it near perfectly. You really get the spring-like feeling from looking at this figure, similar to what is in the original image. It’s a shame that the weather hasn’t been too great or I would have snapped a few pictures outside instead. Fauna’s face is well crafted and cute and rivals the pose in terms of what really stands out about this figure. It’s really hard to find any fault with it. The eyes are big and bright and her mouth is well sculpted. Again, it looks just like the CG. Fauna also sports some incredible detail. From her painted toes and fingers, to the folds and buttons on her dress, not much was passed up on this one. The ribbons on the top of her dress are roughly painted a bit, but they’re far better than other figures out there. Really, there isn’t much to complain about Fauna in terms of how she looks.

Even though Fauna’s biggest sell point is her fun bags the cast off feature, truthfully, she looks a lot better fully dressed. But that’s not saying she doesn’t look great in the near-nude. First and foremost, I recommend Danny’s modifications for this figure. Filing down and cutting certain part of this figure will make your life a lot easier, especially if you plan on going from nekkid to clothed often. It took me a couple minutes to finally pry off her clothes without going so far as breaking something. It’s actually not too hard to de-clothe Fauna, but can be annoying with all the pointy parts and awkward positioning of her arms. However, what’s more annoying is getting her dress back on. Because the joints are along her right side, her arm is directly in the way. Getting all the joints put back together is a major pain and if you don’t get them all inserted properly there’s a glaring gap in the dress. I have wide fingers, so working then under the arm to push the ends together was close to impossible for me to do. I got most of them taken care us, but unfortunately my Fauna isn’t fully “closed” up. If anyone knows of any easier way to get this done, please let me know.

My only other complaint besides how annoying dressing Fauna can be would be that she’s on supported by only one leg. Fauna is without a doubt a leaning candidate. The weight seems centered for now, but there is a lot of stuff leaning forward, so I have no doubt that Fauna will be spending her summers back in her box and on the floor in my room. It’s a shame because it’s an awesome figure to look at. But I’ll deal with that when it’s not 35-40 degrees outside.

So if you’ve got extra cash to blow after the holidays (hopefully a lot because this figure isn’t cheap), Fauna is a solid pick… and then some. Plenty of entertainment, as witnessed here:
