November wallet breaker

As requested, updated with MORE PICTURES!

…but still, nothing too special this month.

I ended up picking up a couple recent back issues of Newtype mainly because they were cheap and the September issue had a nice little Lucky Star fan. Also snagged a Shana towel along the way. The December Megami had a Nanoha tribute and bunch of nice pinups in it as well. Nothing mind-blowing, but I’m not disappointed either. Having Nanoha and Fate TYPE-MOON’d was probably the highlight. There were a few other things that I was hoping to purchase recently, but work hasn’t been too nice to me the last couple weeks. _|-|O….

I had been debating over Good Smile Company’s 1/8 Sumomo figure for quite awhile now. I’ve been eyeballing it since the spring when it was first released, but Dancing Queen finally convinced me to plug the trigger on that figure (i.e., telling me about the pantsu~). Surprisingly, October and November aren’t killing my wallet as much as I had anticipated they would. It’s still early in the month and there are definitely more than a couple items I’ve been eyeballing for a long time now (a certain figure and a certain fanbook), but other than a couple video games and the last Haruhi DVD my November money waste purchases are done. Okay, I lied… I have one more item somewhere stuck with SAL, but that will gets it’s own post in the near future hopefully. I’ve actually scaled back my purchasing each month, but it’s probably because there hasn’t been too much to get excited over. However, The December wallet hurt won’t be as pretty because I’ve got a couple pre-order with HLJ, and then a few more the following month. Cheers to that!

nice stuff, man-thanks for sharing . for security, I have things sent to my post office box, and I use air mail, which is between SAL and EMS for speed. I used the EMS once, stuff came in 6days, but it was $45! a lot of dough for shipping, but I get impatient, too, at times.

@Marshall: SAL is painfully slow compared to EMS (2-3 weeks vs. 3-5 days). I purchased something on eBay recently and the seller shipped it SAL (which really pissed me off). Yes, it’s cheaper, but you get no tracking number, it’s s-l-o-w, and I’ve heard handling isn’t as good.

I didn’t order through HLJ this time around. However, with HLJ you have to wait a few days for them to do shipments and check additional orders and whatnot. So when they send you that “Order Confirmation” e-mail, it’s another few days before it’s actually shipped. With EMS, it takes about 3-5 days from the day you receive the Shipping notice e-mail. I don’t mind waiting for magazines, but for certain stores, you get them quicker because you don’t have to deal with all that I’ve mentioned above; not to mention you don’t have to deal with stuff being out of stock.

I don’t mind paying more because EMS is just a lot better, especially with figures. I wouldn’t mind SAL for magazines, books, and stuff that can take a beating because I don’t mind the wait. They usually just end up in a stack on my shelf after an hour and the dust collecting process commences.

Wow you already got your Megami 91? So do you usually ship through EMS or something. Every time I orderer Megami I usually just go with SAL, since the shipping fees are so steep, but its so freakin slow…and im impatient, which is why I usually go straight with HLJ instead of waiting for other retailers to stock it. *sigh* maybe I should just start using EMS when buying my Megami’s, well actually Im not the one who should be making that decision, my wallet should, but I obviously don’t listen to that! haha

Also I’m loving the GSC Sumomo and the Shana towel!
