October wallet breaker « Tea Shop BeLoved

Another month, another dip in the bank account! Also, I finally got around to putting up photos of my figures (again). Check the figure page for those.

I haven’t purchased a figure in about 2 months because, to be honest, most of the stuff released I was uninterested in or was garbage. However with the turn of the calender came a couple figures that I’ve been drooling over. The Movic 1/8 StrikerS Fate arrived last weekend. The actual figure looks a lot better than the promo shots, as I’ve mentioned before. The face on the figure isn’t all that great, but it’s better than the initial photos. What I was unaware of was that you can actually remove some of Fate’s barrier jacket. I’ll write up a separate post about the figure later (along with StrikerS Nanoha), but you can remove her white cape, her long skirt, and the miniskirt underneath. Also received Good Smile Company’s 1/8 Alicia. Like Alicia herself, the figure is made of the purest WIN, AWESOME, and EPIC. Seriously, the figure is gorgeous, quite detailed, and thankfully screwed securely to it’s base. President Aria is also pretty nice too. Like Fate and Nanoha, Alicia will get her own post eventually, so watch out for that. Another shot of Alicia close up here.

Finally got around to opening up Good Smile’s 1/8 Manabi who had also been sitting in a corner of my room with the Movic StrikerS Nanoha for the last couple months. I’m a bit hesitant about how stable the figure is, but because the weather has cooled down dramatically, I’ll leave her out for awhile. I wouldn’t say the Manabi figure was as awesome as GSC’s Alicia, but it too is also pretty impressive. Upon closer inspection, it’s actually VERY detailed. I had complained a couple months ago about how the hair paint wasn’t as good looking as the promo shots, and I’m not changing that statement. However, the sheer detail of this figure makes up for it. Separate write up pending as well. I’ve already taken plenty of pictures of all these figures, so I should be getting that up sooner than later. Photo of the full Manabi figure here.

Also received copies of the November Megami and the October Newtype. Only snagged the Newtype for the StrikerS poster I had posted about awhile back, but luckily I got it for pretty cheap. With both StrikerS and Lucky Star finished, I hope Megami starts throwing in posters of some of the newer series… and more Sky Girls. I can never get enough Sky Girls.

I wish this were larger… But it’s still WIN AWESOME and EPIC.
