_|-|O… Ink-chan… SAVE ME!
CM’s Signum figure is a whopping 7,410 yen. WTF?! At that price, surely Shamel must be included as well.
Alter Fate was 6,476 yen through HLJ. For a 1/8 figure, it’s massive and made of pure awesome and win–totally worth the price and still remains my favorite figure out of the lot. But looking at figure prices for all the stuff I have pre-ordered for the upcoming months makes me sick. For comparison purposes Max Factory’s 1/8 Yuki was 5,524 yen, Max Factory’s 1/8 Kotori was 4,286 yen (though I got it for much cheaper), Alter’s 1/8 Black Saber was 4,000 yen (again, I got it for much cheaper), and Movic’s 1/8 (but is more like a 1/7 or 1/6.5) Nanoha was 6,800 yen.
Here are my current pre-orders for the fall months in ascending price (i.e., the more my wallet cries like a loli that tripped and fell). Hopefully any others that get announced, like Max Factory’s 1/8 Sakaki Mizuki, stay off the market until 2008.

Max Factory 1/8 Asakura Ryoko (4,571 yen)
Completely reasonable, I think. Ryoko doesn’t have any major interchangeable parts, so she’s in the correct price range. The only thing changeable is that she’s either holding her bag or her knife, but that’s like switching up Haruhi’s pointed finger and the megaphone. Sadly, if I have to drop a September pre-order it’s this one, which is already hard because I have the other 3 figures in the series.
DROPPED!

Good Smile 1/8 Company Alicia Florence (5,524 yen)
Why is Alicia-san 5,500 yen? She’s the same price as Max Factory Yuki, but I don’t see interchangeable torsos, capes, witch hates, magic wands, or 2 sets of glasses. I see a sizable Aria-shacho with her, but that shouldn’t jack the price up another 1,000 yen. Like Max Factory Ryoko, if I end up needing to drop something, the wonderful Alicia-san is on the list. If Good Smile Company were doing an Alice figure, that would be untouchable… even at 8,000 yen.

Movic 1/8 Fate T. Harloawn (5,600 yen)
Out of every Fate PVC figure out there, this one by Movic is probably the worst, yet it cost more than the Good Smile Fate figure. Are we paying more for Bardiche?! Are we paying more because Feito-mama has more… assets? Is it the new Barrier Jacket? I have no clue. 5,600 yen is just too much for a mediocre looking figure; however, because this is a Fate figure, it’s untouchable like her equally expensive counterpart, Nanoha, which should be in my possession in the next few weeks.

Max Factory 1/8 Shana (5,610 yen)
It’s the transparent hair, right? Must be. I don’t care though because this figure is downright sexy and I’ve been waiting to pre-order this thing for a long time.

Max Factory 1/8 Fauna (6,814 yen)
I can justify this price moreso than any of the others. Fauna’s dress is removable, so if I was so inclined to display PVC boobies at my leisure, I can. Like Ryoko and Alicia, Fauna is a potential drop, but because I won’t be seeing her until sometime in December, it’s less likely.

Happinet 1/8 Hitosubashi Yurie (6,980 yen?!)
For a 1/8 figure, this price is ridiculous. Even if it is Yurie-sama, this price is absurd. Hobby Search lists it as a 1/7, but it’s still only about 19 cm. We can go round and round talking about the base jacking the price up, but it’s still way too much. Happinet figures have always been on the steeper side, at least in recent memory. However, nearly 7,000 yen for a fancy base makes me want to cry. Good Smile’s Manabi has a somewhat fancy base and it’s 1,400 yen cheaper.

CM’s Signum (7,410 yen!!!)
This price just makes me want to scream obscenities out the window at little kids. Seriously, it makes me sick. I’m not sure of the scale, but it’s 21 cm, so I would think 1/7. Even if Signum is a 1/7, 7,410 yen is nuts. There must be some absolutely mind-boggling base that comes with it… like some semi-transparent Belka magic circle/triangle that lights up and sparkles and also spins by itself. And Laevatein better speak German, be able to change into Bow Form and Snake Form, AND we hear the cartridges loading… 7,410 yen… that’s enough for TWO “basic” 1/8 figures already.
