My turn to the Dark Side is complete (Kotori is here!)

Chiwasu~! SHE’S HERE!!!!!!

Before I get started… I finally pre-ordered THIS after sitting on it, debating for the past 3 weeks. Thanks to my debating and my indecisiveness, my shipment probably won’t go through until well after March or April. Oh well. I don’t get charged until it ships. Need to change my payment method though. For some reason, the system has me pegged as paying through money order. I can’t change it for another 24 hours because I’m a new customer to HobbyLink Japan and I don’t have a customer ID or password in the system yet. Doh!

But back to Kotori. So, why Kotori when there are just so many other bishoujos to pick from. First and foremost, Kotori is part of my esteemed harem–select bishoujos I’ve dubbed as the most awesome characters ever. It can change, but for the most part, the main ones have always been the same. Kotori just happened to be a bubble character (i.e., she has been in and out depending on my mood), but in the last half year has topped my list (blame it on Horie Yui!). Also, I was deep into my re-watching marathon of Da Capo, so if anything, that had a huge influence. Furthermore, Horie Yui’s albums have been consistently played on my computer, so all that prompted my picking of this figure. Oh yeah… and the outstanding price of $24.99. Including S/H, this cost me the same as what HLJ would charge before tagging on the $14 S/H. Plus, I waited 2 days instead of 2 weeks.

This is my first figure, and I’m extremely happy with my purchase. Purchased this through eBay instead of Hobby Link Japan, so things will be different from here on out. My first transaction with HLJ was mentioned above with the Suzumiya Haruhi figure, but I don’t see any problems with that. I personally love eBay and Amazon. Prices are hit or miss, but shipping is from within the US and thus a lot faster and a bit cheaper. I purchased this late last week and it arrived today.

And now I present to you examples of me having ZERO photography skills. :) Don’t blame my fierce 4.1 megapixel camera because it’s only a year and a half old. :)

So yeah, excuse my ignorance about figures. Anywho, Kotori stands approximately 21-22 cm (~8.5 in) including the base. Pre-painted 1/8 PVC. The details are absolute awesome, especially the seifuku. With her arm raised, you actually get the wrinkles in her uniform. Also, both her hair and ribbon in on cap are being blown by the wind, which has her promptly holding her skirt down in the back with her left arm. Just really beautifully crafted. For size comparisons…

As for amassing figurines, I’ve stated in a past post that I won’t go shopping crazy with these mainly because of the money factor (ridiculously good deals, as always, being the exception. So don’t expect these kinds of posts that often. They’ll most likely come in bursts. What I can guarantee is that my room will probably never look like one of these.

Awwwww yay! ^_^ First figure! Congrats.

Your room better not end up like the ones pictured. O_o I will say however, that the DVD collection wouldn’t be so bad to have. ^_~
