Oh please God let this be true this time!
After watching Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu like 4 times and pretty much obsessing over it up until really early October, it has risen up into my all-time favorite anime column. There is PLENTY of source material to produce another season. Nothing is confirmed yet, but maybe this time next fall we’ll be seeing Haruhi costume rape Mikuru all over again. 
Oh yeah, Zero no Tsukaima is also rumored to be having a second season next fall too! Two good series potentially getting sequels. That’s golden right there. Now if only Full Metal Panic and Shakugan no Shana would both get another season. Like Zero no Tsukaima and Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu, all 4 are based on series of light novels. Thus, there is a wealth of material out there to work with. Furthermore, all those seasons left further story development up for grabs. The story arcs that ended, ended well, but they left definite room for more–more story development and more character development. For instance:
Full Metal Panic!: What really is Sousuke’s background? What is a Whispered? What is Tessa’s relationship with her brother? Who is Tessa’s brother? What will be come of the Sousuke-Kaname relationship? What exactly is the AT-Field? How was it developed? And why is it that Sousuke can use it? Who is really pulling the strings behind Mithrill? Where does Kaname keep that fan? Will Tessa reclaim a position within my harem?
Shakugan no Shana: How long will the Reiji Maigo last? Will Kazumi eventually give up on Yuji and realize I’m the man of her dreams? Will Bel Peol, Sydonay, and/or Hecate be back in full force? What about Margery… will she continue to watch over the town and leech Eita and Ike’s booze? What about the old dude from like the first 4 episodes… he was important but then disappeared? What is the real deal with the Flame Haze and the Lords of the Crimson Realm?
Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu: What about the frog costume? What really is Itsuki’s intentions? Can Haruhi really destroy the world? What’s the deal with the talking cat? What’s the deal with Kyon’s imouto? Is LOL FANG-tan really that awesome?! What is Mikuru (big)’s role in the story? Do ponytails turn Kyon on enough to further pursue Haruhi romantically, or is that where I come in?
Zero no Tsukaima: Will Saito ever get back to his world? Will Louise ever use magic properly? What will become of Henrietta’s country and the neighboring ones? What will become of the Saito-Louise relationship? What about Siesta? Will Siesta learn more about her true lineage on Earth? Will Guiche actually serve a purpose?
