Shana!!
Announced at Comic Con this past weekend, ANOTHER series of light novels has been licensed and this time it’s one of the ones I really wanted licensed. The Shakugan no Shana novels and the manga have been licensed by Viz. Don’t like Viz as much as say Del Rey, but this is nonetheless truly awesome news! It’s great to see companies licensing light novels and not just manga and anime. As I’ve mentioned in other posts, a good number of popular series were based on novels and NOT manga (Crest/Banner of the Stars, Slayers, and Vampire Hunter D being good examples), so I think it’s only a good thing that the light novel trend is starting up on this end of the Pacific.
What’s left that I want licensed…
Shakugan no Shana
Shinigami no Ballad
Scrapped Princess
Full Metal Panic series
Suzumiya Haruhi series
Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora
Welcome to the N.H.K.
Kamisama Kazoku
Banner/Crest of the Stars
Iriya no Sora, UFO no Natsu

welcome to the NHK is translated/out already too, you should cross that off! =o
